Fotona Dynamis

Our skin is a living, breathing record of our experiences. With time, the recordings add up, and we begin to notice changes such as uneven texture, fine lines, redness, skin lesions, and a loss of firmness and definition.

We face particular challenges to skin health here in Perth. The intense UV exposure and coastal lifestyle subjects our skin to a higher risk of aesthetic concerns as well as more serious damage. That's why we're excited to be the first clinic in Western Australia to have the Fotona Dynamis Nx Line, an extraordinarily versatile all-in-one laser solution for aesthetics and dermatology.

What Is the Fotona Dynamis Nx System?

The Fotona Dynamis Nx Line is a laser platform that combines two gold-standard laser wavelengths, Er:YAG and Nd:YAG. Each wavelength serves a distinct purpose.

The Er:YAG wavelength (2940nm) is absorbed by water in your skin cells, making it ideal for surface treatments ranging from gentle peels to complete resurfacing. It removes damaged skin layers with microscopic precision while stimulating your body's natural renewal processes.

The Nd:YAG wavelength (1064nm) penetrates much deeper, passing through the surface of your skin to target structures beneath. It's absorbed by haemoglobin in blood vessels and melanin in hair follicles, and also heats deep tissues for collagen remodelling and skin tightening.

We can use these wavelengths individually or together to deliver dozens of different treatment options for the face, neck, and body.

How Does the Nx Line Compare to Older Dynamis Systems?

The Nx Line boasts several breakthrough comfort and safety features that set it apart from previous Dynamis models:

  • CoolMist technology: improves patient comfort during treatment using a fine mist of room-temperature water that evaporates instantly on the skin
  • MatrixView sensors: continuously monitor the skin’s temperature to ensure we deliver an appropriate amount of energy for your desired outcomes while keeping you safe
  • Vacuum technology: enhances body contouring treatments by improving circulation and encouraging your body to process the treated tissue

What Cosmetic Treatments Are Performed With the Fotona Dynamis Laser?

This platform is capable of performing over 100 treatments, including Fotona 4D, 5D, 6D and combination treatments. Our cosmetic treatment options include:

Fotona 4D

Fotona 4D is a nonsurgical facelifting treatment that uses a combination of four laser modes. The treatment works from the inside out to address laxity and volume loss at multiple layers of the skin, while simultaneously targeting surface-level complexion concerns.

FRAC3 Collagen Boost

Using a fractional rejuvenation modality, FRAC3 stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of your skin. This treatment improves overall skin tone and texture to leave your skin looking smoother, more radiant, and refreshed.

PIANO Tightening

The PIANO modality uses a unique, hyper-long Nd:YAG laser pulse to deliver energy into your skin's subcutaneous layers. This triggers a tightening response and promotes collagen remodelling for a firmer, more contoured appearance on the face, neck, or body.

LipLase

LipLase is a noninvasive laser treatment designed to give you fuller, smoother lips. By gently heating the inner and outer lip tissue, the laser stimulates collagen production to create fuller, better-defined lips and smooth perioral wrinkles.

SmoothEye

The SmoothEye treatment is a gentle, nonablative laser procedure that reduces fine lines and loose skin around the eyes. It improves skin elasticity and tone in the delicate periocular area by stimulating collagen remodelling and contraction.

HAIRestart

HAIRestart uses the Er:YAG laser to stimulate hair growth. Heating the scalp revitalises dormant hair follicles and increases blood circulation, which can lead to new hair growth and improved hair quality. This medication-free approach works for both male and female pattern hair loss.

IntraOral

The IntraOral tightening treatment heats the tissues inside the mouth with a nonablative laser. This stimulates collagen production in the lower layers of the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and perioral wrinkles from the inside out.

Light, Medium, Deep, or Cold Peels

The Fotona Dynamis Nx Line allows us to perform a range of laser peels tailored to different needs and skin types. We can offer light, medium, deep, or cold peels by controlling the depth and intensity of the laser. Your peel is customised to your skin concerns and your downtime tolerance.

Micro Laser Coring

For significant skin rejuvenation, our Fotona system offers advanced fractional ablative resurfacing, including Micro Laser Coring. This minimally invasive treatment removes tiny cores of tissue from the skin to stimulate collagen production and natural skin regeneration.

Stretch Mark & Scar Revision

Combining both laser wavelengths allows us to remodel scar tissue and stretch marks from multiple angles. The Nd:YAG breaks down fibrous tissue and improves vascularity, while the Er:YAG precisely ablates surface irregularities.

Laser Hair Reduction

Fotona's Nd:YAG laser can be used on all skin types for hair reduction. Most patients notice a significant reduction in unwanted hair after completing the recommended treatment protocol, and any future hair growth that may occur is usually thinner and lighter.

What Dermatological and Medical Treatments Are Performed With the Fotona Dynamis Laser?

Our dermatological and medical treatment options include:

Active Acne

The Nd:YAG laser targets overactive sebaceous glands to treat active lesions and reduce the risk of developing new acne inflammation. This treatment can also help to stimulate collagen remodelling, which can be helpful in the long-term treatment of acne.

Rosacea and Inflammatory Skin Conditions

For patients struggling with rosacea and other inflammatory skin conditions, the Nd:YAG laser can treat visible vascular lesions and reduce generalised redness and inflammation. This treatment can help decrease flare-ups and restore a more even, calm complexion.

NightLase (Snoring)

The NightLase treatment reduces the effects of sleep apnea and improves snoring by causing collagen in the oral mucosa tissue to contract. After a full course of NightLase treatment (three sessions over six weeks), results can last up to a year.

ClearSteps (Nail Fungus)

Onychomycosis is a common fungal nail infection that can be difficult to treat. The ClearSteps treatment heats the infected nail and surrounding tissue, which can kill the fungus. The body's natural processes can then restore the nail to its healthy state.

Warts

The Fotona wart removal treatment is a precise way to destroy wart tissue with minimal discomfort and a low risk of recurrence. The laser's energy cuts off the wart's blood supply, causing it to die. The treatment also has antibacterial effects that promote faster healing.

Vascular Lesions & Leg Veins

Laser treatments are routinely used to treat many types of vascular lesions, including hemangiomas, telangiectasias, venous lakes, and angiomas. We can also treat visible leg veins using Fotona's Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) treatment.

The OLA Experience

Consultation

Your experience with us begins with a private, one-on-one consultation with Dr Aleks or Dr Indi. This is where we get to know you, your skin, and your concerns. We'll discuss what you hope to achieve and create a bespoke treatment plan to meet your needs. We want you to feel confident in your providers and your plan at every step of the process.

Preparation

Preparation is minimal for most of our Fotona treatments. However, we may provide you with specific instructions during your consultation, such as avoiding certain medications or skin care products. It is always important to protect your skin from excessive sun exposure before any laser treatment to minimise the risk of hyperpigmentation.

Treatment

Your doctor will perform your Fotona treatment with precision and a gentle touch. The procedure time can vary depending on the specific treatment and the areas being addressed. You may experience a warm or tingling sensation, but the integrated CoolMist cooling system is designed to keep you comfortable.

I chose to bring the Fotona Dynamis NX Line to OLA Aesthetics because I believe it represents the future of skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Not only can it treat an enormous range of concerns, the treatments are safer, more comfortable, and more efficient, with shorter treatment sessions for our busy patients.
-Dr Aleks

What Is the Average Downtime and Recovery?

Many Fotona treatments have minimal downtime (particularly for the nonablative procedures), allowing you to get on with your day right away. It is not uncommon to experience some redness or a sensation similar to a sunburn, but these effects typically subside within a few hours to a few days.

The more ablative or aggressive the treatment is, the longer the recovery is likely to be. Your provider will discuss downtime expectations and aftercare guidelines with you before your treatment.
