Bioremodelling

Bioremodelling works beneath the surface of your skin to improve hydration, firmness and elasticity. Instead of masking the signs of ageing, it stimulates your body's natural regenerative capabilities to address their underlying causes.

Bioremodelling is one of our most versatile treatments. It is available for healthy adults of all ages and skin types, as well as nearly any area affected by thin or crepey skin, including the face, neck, décolletage and hands. For more information, please request a consultation at OLA Aesthetics.

A Note From Dr Aleks

Our skin is not just what we see on the surface. Inside, there is a framework of collagen and elastin fibres that provide structure and elasticity. Over time, these fibres gradually break down, and we develop skin laxity and fine lines.

Bioremodelling is one way to address collagen and elastin loss. When we combine it with surface-focused treatments that address texture irregularities, pigmentation and dullness, we are able to comprehensively and harmoniously target signs of ageing at multiple levels. Your skin not only looks better but actually becomes healthier and more resilient.

What Is Bioremodelling?

Bioremodelling occupies a unique position in the cosmetic doctor's toolbox. Rather than simply masking the symptoms of diminished collagen and elastin, it targets the underlying causes. We use this treatment to encourage your skin to produce new collagen and elastin and rebuild its natural architecture.

Bioremodelling treatments are designed to:

  • Minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve skin elasticity and firmness
  • Enhance skin hydration and radiance
  • Improve skin tone and texture

Bioremodelling treatments are not intended to:

  • Address volume loss
  • Contour the face
  • Reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles

Could a Bioremodelling Treatment Be Right for Me?

Bioremodelling can be an excellent option for enhancing skin quality and addressing early to moderate signs of ageing. It's particularly well-suited for those who want to see benefits without significantly altering their appearance.

You might be a candidate for bioremodelling if:

  • You are noticing skin laxity, crepiness or a loss of elasticity
  • Your skin appears dull
  • You have fine lines that are becoming more noticeable
  • You are interested in treatments that work with your body's natural processes
  • You prefer subtle, gradual results rather than dramatic changes

Bioremodelling is suitable for most skin types and tones. However, as with any aesthetic procedure, certain medical conditions may affect your suitability. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients should postpone treatment, and those with certain skin conditions or active infections may need to wait until these resolve.

The best way to determine your candidacy for bioremodelling is to book a consultation with one of our doctors. We value transparency and will never recommend a treatment we do not feel is appropriate for you.

The OLA Experience

Consultation

During your first appointment, we learn about your skin concerns, skin quality, medical history and treatment goals. We explain how the treatment works and what results you can realistically expect, and we encourage you to ask any questions you have.

We never rush this important step. Understanding your unique needs and concerns allows us to create a truly personalised treatment plan.

Preparation

Your treatment plan will outline the recommended number of sessions, optimal timing between treatments and any skincare products that might support your results.

Once your treatment plan is established, we'll schedule your appointments at times convenient for you. We understand that our patients lead busy lives, and we strive to make your experience with us as seamless and stress-free as possible.

Treatment

Bioremodelling works progressively over time. Initially, you may notice increased hydration and a subtle improvement in skin quality. As weeks pass, your body produces new collagen and elastin, and this is when you may start to see smoother skin, increased firmness and improved elasticity.

The bioremodelling protocol typically includes multiple sessions spaced approximately one month apart.

How Does Bioremodelling Work?

Fibroblasts are the primary cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. Stimulating fibroblasts triggers what we call "bioremodelling" of the extracellular matrix—reorganising and strengthening of the skin's supportive framework.

A bioremodelling treatment encourages this process to take place. It also attracts water to hydrate the skin from within, giving it a healthy glow and a plumper, smoother appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for my bioremodelling treatment?
How long do the effects of bioremodelling last?
Is bioremodelling a painful treatment?
Are there any side effects associated with bioremodelling treatments?
How much does a bioremodelling treatment cost?
Over-focusing on a single concern without considering skin quality and facial harmony can leave patients looking 'treated'. When we shift our attention to improving the overall quality of the skin—its hydration, elasticity and luminosity—results often look more natural and balanced. Bioremodelling is a beautiful example of this philosophy.
