A Note from Dr Aleks

At OLA Aesthetics, we work with nature, not against it. Our goal is to refresh and refine, never to mask or alter what makes you uniquely you. This principle is the heart of our treatment philosophy, and it is also the concept behind Morpheus8 — a device that exemplifies the power of harnessing your body's own regenerative processes.

Morpheus8 enhances your skin’s innate ability to renew and revitalise itself. Through the combination of radiofrequency technology and skin needling, the treatment encourages your skin to rejuvenate from within. In this way, Morpheus8 is an instrument of truly natural, and natural-looking, enhancement.

Morpheus8

With the passage of time, our skin naturally evolves, reflecting our life's experiences in its changing texture and contours. Some of these changes occur on the surface of the skin, while others emerge from the deeper layers where collagen and elastin reside.

Morpheus8 by InMode is a non-surgical treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology. This dual-action approach not only helps resurface your skin for a smoother and clearer appearance but also works beneath the surface to remodel and contour.

During the treatment, tiny needles are used to create microchannels in the skin, which are then infused with radiofrequency energy. This stimulates the body's natural healing process and triggers the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin.

One of the key benefits of Morpheus8 is that it can be customised to suit each individual patient's needs. The depth of the microneedles and the intensity of the radiofrequency energy can be adjusted to target specific areas of the face or body, ensuring optimal results.

Today, more people are postponing invasive surgical procedures in favour of nonsurgical alternatives that deliver results with less downtime and discomfort. Morpheus8 is an elegant solution that offers long-lasting improvements for a variety of cosmetic concerns on the face, neck and body.

What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 marries the time-tested technique of microneedling with the cutting-edge technology of fractional radiofrequency (RF). Also known as collagen induction therapy or skin needling, microneedling penetrates both the epidermis and dermis of the skin to stimulate collagen production, while the RF energy promotes further collagen remodelling and skin contraction.

The fractional aspect of Morpheus8 means that the treatment affects only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving surrounding tissues intact. This promotes faster healing and reduces the downtime typically associated with skin resurfacing treatments.

Morpheus8 is most commonly used on the face, neck and chest/décolletage. Treatments can also be performed on some body areas, helping with concerns such as sagging skin on the abdomen, stretch marks on the buttocks or scarring on the arms or legs.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

During the treatment, tiny needles are used to create microchannels in your skin. This stimulates your body's natural healing process and triggers the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin health and appearance.

While the microneedles are in your skin, they emit radiofrequency energy. This energy heats the deeper layers of your skin, tightening existing collagen fibres and stimulating the production of new collagen. This heating action also helps remodel the fat and connective tissues, contributing to a more refined and sculpted appearance.

One of the key benefits of Morpheus8 is that it can be customised to suit each individual patient's needs. The depth of the microneedles and the intensity of the radiofrequency energy can be adjusted to target specific concerns and different areas of the face or body.

The OLA Experience

Consultation

Your Perth Morpheus8 treatment begins with a thorough consultation with one of our doctors. After getting to know you, we will outline our vision for your results and the roadmap for how to get there. We want this to be an educational and collaborative process. You should leave this appointment feeling well-informed and confident about your treatment plan.

Preparation

We will provide detailed guidance on any adjustments you might need to make to your routine before your treatment. This may include avoiding certain procedures, skincare products, medications, supplements and alcohol for a specified period. Try to minimise sun exposure and maximise moisture and hydration.

Treatment

We use a topical anaesthetic to decrease the sensation of both the microneedles and RF energy penetration. After the cream has desensitised your skin, we perform the treatment by stamping the handpiece of the device against your skin. Needles in the end of the handpiece create microscopic channels and deliver the RF energy to a predetermined depth.

"At OLA, we believe that beauty comes from a deep respect for individuality and understanding of the ageing process. We make recommendations based on your specific needs and features rather than current trends or fads.”

What Is the Average Downtime and Recovery?

The OLA team is dedicated to providing a seamless and supportive experience from start to finish, reflective of our total commitment to your well-being. Following your Morpheus8 treatment, we will equip you with comprehensive aftercare instructions. Adhering closely to these guidelines will optimise your recovery and enhance the overall results of your treatment.

Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling and a mild sensation of warmth in the treated area. These are typical responses to RF microneedling, and they typically resolve on their own within a few days. Rarely, patients might experience slight bruising or temporary changes in skin pigmentation, particularly if post-treatment care recommendations are not followed diligently.

Morpheus8 is known for its relatively short recovery period. The average downtime varies from person to person but generally ranges from one to five days.

What Results Can I Expect From My Morpheus8 Treatment?

Visible results can be seen as soon as a few days after your Morpheus8 treatment, but the most noticeable results appear after four to six weeks. This gives your skin time to produce new collagen and elastin, the building blocks of healthy skin. Improvements can continue up to three months post-treatment.

The number of sessions required varies from one to a series of three, scheduled four to six weeks apart. For most patients, a series of treatments is recommended. We will recommend the number of sessions to be performed based on your personal objectives.

Morpheus8 results are relatively long-lasting. On average, our patients enjoy the benefits of their treatment for about one year, and in some cases, even longer. Maintenance sessions can help you preserve and prolong your results.

Morpheus8 FAQ

Does radiofrequency microneedling hurt?

Before we begin your Morpheus8 treatment, we apply a topical anaesthetic cream to make the procedure more comfortable. Most clients report feeling only a mild sensation of warmth and the slight pressure of the microneedling device. For treatments requiring more intense settings, we may utilise a local anesthetic to further minimise discomfort.

What are the risks of radiofrequency microneedling?

Any aesthetic procedure carries a risk of adverse reactions. Although our team is highly trained, side effects can occur. These include but are not limited to:

  • Temporary redness, pinpoint bleeding, scabbing, slight swelling, pinprick marks, bruising and dry or flaky skin

  • Initial textural changes to the skin such as MENDS (little dots) — these are microscopic injury sites and may appear as a slight darkening of the skin

  • MENDS are more common following a superficial treatment and on darker Fitzpatrick skin types

  • MENDS often dissipate within days and may last up to 2-4 weeks on the face and 4-6 weeks on the body

  • Damage to the natural skin texture (crust, blister, burn)

  • Change of skin pigmentation (hyper- or hypo-pigmentation)

  • More serious side effects or complications are rare, however, blisters, scarring and areas of hyperpigmentation can occur

Can Morpheus8 be used on all skin types?

One of the notable advantages of Morpheus8 is its versatility and safety across all skin types. Microneedling and radiofrequency energy do not target the natural pigment (melanin) in the skin. This makes Morpheus8 suitable for treating a diverse range of skin tones, including darker complexions, which are at risk for pigmentation changes with some other aesthetic treatments (such as certain lasers).

How does Morpheus8 fit into an overall skin care regimen?

Morpheus8 is designed to complement and enhance the results of your skincare products and other aesthetic treatments. One of our favourite multi-modal treatments is our InMode 3-Step Lifting solution, which combines Morpheus8 with Forma (skin tightening) and MiniFX (cellulite and fat reduction).

Our doctors believe in a holistic approach to beauty. Morpheus8 can be part of a comprehensive plan to help you address and prevent the signs of ageing, tailored to your unique skin and lifestyle.
