Exosomes are one of the newer additions to aesthetic medicine, and at OLA Hair we use them the way we think they make sense: as a topical treatment applied to the scalp, as one part of a broader, doctor-led plan rather than a standalone answer. The treatment is delivered by our registered doctors in our West Perth clinic, and whether it has a role for you is something we work out together, honestly, at consultation.

Exosomes are interesting, and we use them, topically, as one part of a considered plan. What I will not do is tell you they are a cure for hair loss, or let you spend on a course of anything before we have understood what is actually happening with your hair. The most valuable thing I can offer you is honesty about what will help and what will not, and that is what you will get here, whatever the treatment.

What exosomes are, and how we use them
Exosomes are tiny vesicles derived from cells, studied for their role in how cells communicate. In aesthetic medicine they are used topically, applied to the surface of the skin or scalp, frequently after a treatment such as microneedling that prepares the surface to receive them.
At OLA Hair, that is exactly how we use them. The exosome products we work with, ASCE+ and Exomide, are applied topically to the scalp as one element of a plan, most often to support the condition of the scalp alongside your core treatment rather than in place of it.
It is worth being straight about where this sits. Exosome treatments are an emerging area, and the research behind their use is still developing. We do not present them as a cure for hair loss, and we do not position them as a substitute for a proper assessment of why your hair is thinning. If addressing hair loss is your goal, that conversation starts with diagnosis and with the treatments built for it, and exosomes are considered only where they add something to that plan.

Consultation and assessment
Your journey begins with a private consultation with an OLA doctor. We look at your scalp, your hair and your goals, and we work out whether an exosome treatment has a genuine place in your plan, or whether your time and money are better directed elsewhere. If it is not the right fit, we will tell you.
The treatment
Where it is appropriate, the exosome product is applied topically to your scalp, typically following a preparatory treatment such as microneedling. A session usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes depending on what it accompanies.
Afterwards
Most people return to everyday activities the same day. Some mild redness or sensitivity can occur and settles quickly, and you will be given clear aftercare guidance.
Your plan
Because we use this as part of a broader approach, your doctor will set out how it fits with your other treatments and what a sensible course looks like.
Is this treatment right for you?
That depends entirely on your goals and what else is in your plan. Exosome treatments are used here as a complementary step, so the more useful question is usually not whether to have this one treatment, but what the right overall approach to your scalp and hair is. That is what your consultation is for.
If your concern is hair loss, the honest starting point is understanding its cause and considering the treatments designed to address it. Where an exosome treatment adds something worthwhile alongside those, we will say so. Where it does not, we will say that too, rather than sell you a course for its own sake.
