Fotona SMOOTH® Women's Health Treatments

Doctor-led laser care for intimate and pelvic health

Changes to intimate health after childbirth, through menopause or simply with age are common, yet many women never raise them with a doctor. At OLA, we offer a range of Fotona SMOOTH® laser treatments for women's intimate and pelvic health, delivered in a private, doctor-led clinical setting.

Fotona SMOOTH® uses an Er laser to deliver gentle, controlled pulses of heat to the vaginal tissue. Rather than cutting or removing tissue, this energy is designed to stimulate the body's own collagen remodelling, supporting the thickness and strength of the vaginal wall. Treatments are performed in clinic, without incisions or general anaesthetic.

Every treatment begins with a private consultation with the OLA medical team. We review your symptoms, medical and obstetric history and any previous treatments to determine whether laser is appropriate for you, or whether other options should be considered first.

RenovaLase®

Laser treatment for vaginal dryness and menopausal changes

Falling oestrogen levels during perimenopause and menopause can cause the vaginal tissue to become thinner, drier and less elastic. Known clinically as vaginal atrophy or genitourinary syndrome of menopause, this can lead to dryness, itching, irritation and discomfort during intimacy.

RenovaLase® is a non-ablative Er laser treatment that gently warms the vaginal lining using Fotona SMOOTH® technology. This controlled heating is designed to stimulate new collagen and blood vessel formation, helping to support a thicker, better hydrated vaginal lining. As a non-hormonal approach, it may be considered alongside or as an alternative to other treatments, following assessment by your doctor and, where relevant, your treating specialist.

Treatment is performed in clinic during a short appointment, and most women return to their normal activities the same day. A course of sessions is usually recommended, and your doctor will discuss the number of sessions, the expected timeframe and how your progress will be reviewed.

IncontiLase®

Non-surgical laser treatment for stress urinary incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence is the leakage of urine when pressure is placed on the bladder, such as when coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting or exercising. It is common after childbirth and with age, as the tissues that support the bladder and urethra gradually lose strength.

IncontiLase® is a non-surgical Er laser treatment designed for mild to moderate stress and mixed urinary incontinence. Using Fotona SMOOTH® technology, gentle heat is directed to the vaginal wall around the urethra and bladder to stimulate collagen remodelling, with the aim of tightening and strengthening the tissue that supports the bladder.

The procedure involves no incisions, stitches or general anaesthetic, and two sessions are typically recommended. Because incontinence can have several causes, your OLA doctor will assess your symptoms and history first, and may recommend pelvic floor physiotherapy or further investigation alongside or before laser treatment.

IntimaLase®

Non-surgical laser treatment for vaginal laxity

Childbirth and natural ageing can stretch and weaken the tissue of the vaginal canal, a condition known as vaginal relaxation syndrome. Some women notice a feeling of looseness, reduced sensation or changes in comfort and confidence during intimacy.

IntimaLase® is a non-surgical Er laser treatment that uses Fotona SMOOTH® technology to deliver controlled heat to the vaginal wall. The aim is to stimulate collagen remodelling and new collagen formation, supporting a tighter vaginal canal without cutting or removing any tissue.

Treatment is performed in clinic and two sessions are usually recommended, with most women resuming everyday activities straight afterwards. During your private consultation, your doctor will discuss whether IntimaLase® suits your needs, what you can realistically expect, and how results can vary from person to person.

LichenLase™

Laser treatment for lichen sclerosus

Lichen sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that most often affects the vulva. It can cause persistent itching, soreness, white patches of skin and pain during intercourse. While it cannot be cured, it can be managed with the right ongoing care.

LichenLase™ uses Fotona's Nd laser in PIANO™ pulse mode to deliver gentle heat to the affected tissue, with the aim of relieving symptoms. Where white plaques are present, an additional Er step may be included. It may be used alongside topical corticosteroids, or considered for women whose symptoms persist despite standard treatment or who wish to reduce long-term steroid use.

A typical course involves three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions around every six months. Whatever treatment you choose, lichen sclerosus needs regular medical review, and your OLA doctor will work with you, and your GP or specialist where needed, to monitor your condition over time.

Individual results vary. All medical procedures carry risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
